Best way to make outside kids toys look like new?

Shannon S asked:

A friend gave me a couple toys for my son (an exersaucer with no batteries or electronics, just hard plasstic and a plast Cozy Coupe) that are pretty weathered and dirty but in good structural shape. What is the best way to get them super clean and sterile for my 15 month old son to use? I sprayed the Exersaucer down with Fantastic and hosed it off then used a Clorox cleanup. The car is really dirty though… what would be best? Thanks!

You could try using household dish soap and a scrub brush. That always seems to do the trick. You just have to use hot water to sanitize the car. Good luck.

pressure washer’s are what you should be thinking of, as a way to really clean up the existing dirt, greas etc

try barkeepers friend (like comet, dry pdr for tubs etc) but its finer grain than other scrubbers. use gloves and scrub with a scrubbing pad (green ones). I have used chlorox with the mixture but be carefull…..gloves and i use chlorox straight on stuff like that. you just have to be carefull…cloths, breathing, and ALWAYS USE GLOVES. i cleaned my daughters used plastic play house with these items and it looked like new!! BE CAREFULL.. THESE ARE CONSIDERED CHEMICALS!

Gently scrub with plastic scrubber and BAR KEEPER’S FRIEND. Or try SOFT SCRUB.

Stick them on the top shelf of the dishwasher for 3-4 minutes. Longer if really dirty. Open door and let them air dry.

Try a Mr. Clean eraser. It’ll get the toys clean without harsh chemicals - I promise.
